This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of terrorism in global politics, equipping them with theoretical tools to critically assess terrorist organizations, counter-terrorism strategies, and the role of international actors in combating terrorism, while examining the historical, ideological, and political dimensions of terrorism, including Islamic extremism.

This course is designed in a way to enable the student to master the content of Terrorism in Global Politics and critically assess terrorism and terrorist groups through a comprehensive theoretical toolkit. The course accommodates positivist and post-positivist approaches equally and is suitable for both bachelor’s and master’s students.
